Giga Outlet - Home Store

Giga Outlet is a large home store right outside Shimoda Mall. The first story reminds me of IKEA, but Japan style. There is a great variety of furniture, rugs, curtains, and small home accessories. The second floor has more expensive furniture. Much of it is small japanese style couches and dining tables, but very good quality.

Hours: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Currency: Yen, have not tried Credit Cards

Directions: Travel out of Shimoda Mall towards the toll road. Pass the toll road entrance and the Giga outlet will be immediately on the left.

There are two other stores that are similar to GIGA Outlet, but both are in Hachinohe. One we call Nitori [that's what the brand is there] & the other is called Nano. Not too positive of the directions, b/c my husband & I were taken there by a friend the first time & happened to remember the way ourselves the second time we went. I believe Nitori's a bit cheaper than GIGA though...of course furniture's quite smaller than American made, but they have bedroom accessories/bedding, kitchen & bathroom accessories, storage & other decorative items. I'll try keeping tabs of the directions the next time we go!

Is Giga Outlet closed? We went by there a couple of times, on the weekend and during the week and they had a rope around the parking lot and it looked like the place was boarded up. Are there any other good shopping places for furniture? If so, where?
